Counting Yoruba numbers can be a little bit tricky, as there are slight variations in the number system. This website will help you learn Yoruba numbers quickly and easily without wasting your time.

onka yoruba (yoruba numbers) We have received a good amount of comments from different people trying to learn Yoruba Numbering system but confronted with different variations of the number. Actually, counting of Yoruba numbers can be grouped into three, namely:

1) Cardinal Counting
2) Distributive Counting
3) Positional Counting

In Yoruba Language, Cardinal System of numbering is the universal acceptable form reading, writing and pronouncing of Yoruba numbers. On the other hand, positional counting is rendered when one is counting number relative to the subject while distributive counting is used when an object is being numbered by the subject.

Positional and Distributive counting only valid when reading from 1-19, and on reaching 20 they are automatically switched to cardinal counting system. Let’s dive into examples
